SPRING 2025 EQUIPMENT GRANT: LEGO Education STEM Integration
Grant Amount: $10,000 (ESVCF Grant)
Reach: 140+ students in PreK–6th grade across two elementary schools
Project: Introduced LEGO Education Essential and SPIKE kits into STEM classes and provided teacher training for hands-on engineering and coding instruction.
Impact: Students gained confidence in building, coding, and modeling science concepts. Teachers reported increased engagement, collaboration, and deeper understanding of force, motion, and computational thinking. Students routinely asked when they could “use the LEGO kits again,” showing sustained excitement and ownership of learning.
Why It Matters: This grant helped launch a dynamic, inquiry-driven STEM pathway that strengthens creativity and problem-solving, preparing Eastern Shore students for future academic success.
