Our Endowed Funds

Building a legacy of generosity on Virginia’s Eastern Shore.

Each of the endowed funds listed below was created by an individual, family, or nonprofit organization who wanted to make a lasting difference—whether by supporting a favorite cause, honoring a loved one, or ensuring long-term sustainability for the work they care about most.

Together, these funds reflect the generosity and vision of our community. We invite you to explore them—and, if you’re inspired, consider how you might create a fund of your own, now or as part of your estate plan.

Field of Interest Funds

Field of interest funds allow donors to support a specific area of community life—such as arts and culture, education, youth, humanitarian needs, or even a particular town or county. The Foundation then awards grants to nonprofits whose work aligns with that focus, ensuring the donor’s intent is honored while meeting changing community needs over time.

Organizational Funds

An organizational fund is an endowment established by a nonprofit to support its own mission—forever. By setting up an endowed fund through ESVCF, a nonprofit creates a permanent, stable source of income that grows over time. This kind of long-term planning helps organizations weather ups and downs, expand their impact, and focus on what they do best: serving the community.
